Listen to people in a queue.
Listen to the news.
Listen to gossip.
Listen to your dreams.
Read the Local & National News Paper. (There was recently a story in our local about Police arresting a man during his wedding!)
Read Magazines.
Watch the News on TV. Besides the horror that is going on in the US at the moment there was a story of a family going back to Manahatter to see if they could find their Daddy, but were turned away buy POlice, but then they found him (Tears all round!).
Keep saying what if when a situation happens to you like....
You are going to work in your car...
what if the car stops and a stranger gets in.
what if the car blows up
what if you get out the car and its not yours
what if and you see someone that you fancy driving past
what if you get a flat tyre and loose all your nuts (!)

THERE ARE MILLIONS OF STORIES OUT THERE - OPEN YOUR EYES
OPEN YOUR EARS
OPEN YOUR IMAGINATION

P.S. I have recenly had a wierd dream of which I am trying to work into a script. It is about Money Inheritance but has a very strange situation in the middle. It has taken me a while to work out which is the best way to cast it - which is the most interesting - which is the most plausable - which is the most realistic - which could be the most fun. The idea of the story is quite easy - but glueing it all together piece by piece is the art, the fun and the achievement.

Yes Good idea.
You already have people wondering: how the 'runawayee' is going to cope? - what will happen to him/her? - why is he/her running? before the heart of the story exposes itself perhaps. You could twist the story instead of the runawayee being hard done to try turning it into the parents/guardians being hard done to or the siblings being hard done to. Perhaps the runawayee could turn up being succesful instead of being a down and out.

There are all sorts of DIFFERENT possibilites - try a different slant - be original if you can. Good luck. Pryce

listen, listen, listen...music, nature, city noise, dreams, anything. Especially dreams (for me anyway). My latest film script came from a dream. Wes Craven, as silly and boneheaded as the "scream" series was (is?), had an acute ability to write down his dreams. He later worked them into many of his movies, especially the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series.Er... "Follow Your Dreams"
